Bohol is one of the Philippines’ top tourist destinations. There are many activities that tourists can engage in whenever they visit Bohol. However, the most common, unique, and fun-filled ones are the following:
1.Exploring the Sagbayan Peak. This is a man-made resort built on a mountain top. Before one reaches the resort, he or she will have to climb several steps. However, once he or she gets to the top, the 360 degree view is so rewarding.
2.Taking a Peek at the Carmen Chocolate Hills. This is one of the most visited National Heritage Sites of the Philippines. Apart from being unique to Bohol, these hills are also breathtaking sceneries that look likes hills of chocolate because of their brown colors.
3.Be mesmerized with the Mahogany Man-made Forest. This 2-kilometer man-made forest is the first and only man-made forest in the Philippines. The entire area is planted with Mahogany trees.
4.Visit the Tarsier Sanctuary. Tarsiers are the smallest primates worldwide and one of the places where they thrive in is Bohol. They are known to be nocturnal animals whose maximum weight is only 150grams. They also have tails that are about 230mm long. Furthermore, they have big brown eyes and are able to rotate their heads in a 180 degree direction on both sides. This is one of the must-not-forget activities in Bohol.
5.Stopover the Exotic Albuquerque Zoo. This zoo is also another tourist destination that makes Bohol exotic. The zoo is a home to the biggest pythons in captivity that has ever been known. One of the pythons was named Prony who measures 23 feet long and 300 kilograms.
6.Conquer one’s fear by crossing the Hanging Bridge. This bridge is one that is made of a bamboo located in the upper part of Loboc River. Furthermore, this is considered as one of the most dangerous hanging bridges in the world.
7.Relax and enjoy the cruise around Loboc River. This river is very famous among a few Filipino movies. Apart from its fame as a movie scene, it is also one of the top destinations in Bohol. Tourists can take a cruise along Loboc River while dining and listening to live music.
8.Take a glimpse of the oldest church. Baclayon Church is considered as one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. Moreover, it is also among the well-maintained and preserved Jesuit churches in the region. Next to the church is a museum and a convent.
9.Visit the Blood Compact Shrine. This place is known to the Philippine History as the place where the first Treaty of Friendship between Asia and Europe took place through a blood compact between Datu Sikatuna and Miguel de Legazpi. The shrine contains two life-sized statues making a toast. The statues were sculpted by an artist from Bohol, known as Napolean Abueva.
10.Beach Hopping. One’s Bohol Tour will not be complete without visiting its amazing and breathtaking beaches. There are several beaches in Bohol where activities such as snorkeling, swimming, dining, dolphin watching, island hopping, or just simply to relax and feel the cool sea breeze.
